What Parents Say About Us

The following are excerpts from letters we have received from the parents of some of our students. Copies of the full letters are available on request.

We have taken our son, Andrew, through two other phonics tutoring programs. Our biggest concern was that Andrew was beginning to dislike reading and believe that he could not improve. We took one more attempt by enrolling him in your Academic Associates program. We are grateful that the Academic Associates program made the difference for Andrew. Your phonics program was tangible and comprehensible for him. What an important difference for his life! Now, as he reads, he is continually building confidence instead of doubt.

My son is a bright and accomplished student, but finds the act of writing to be especially challenging. For years, he has shown little to no improvement in spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation. Within just seven weeks, Linda has made a huge difference in my son’s writing skills. Linda started with the basics…then quickly moved on to higher level material. She keeps her lesson plan varied and is able to keep his interest peaked and his frustration level down. She truly cares about my son and has never given anything less than 110%...I highly recommend her as a tutor.

It is with extreme gratitude and appreciation that I write this to thank you for all you have done for my daughter, Cheanine. As you know, she hated to read, her self-esteem was extremely low and she said she felt “very dumb”. When we moved to Grass Valley, we decided to try your program. What an amazing difference! In just 21 hours of instruction, Cheanine jumped from second grade to sixth grade in reading! Her self-esteem and confidence shot way up. She started picking up books to read all by herself! She started reading books so quickly that she was trying to make them “last” until she could get to the bookstore again! We are both so grateful for what you have done for her. We first learned of Bob & Linda’s Academic Associates programs when our son needed to finesse his reading skills in elementary school. Although he had an age appropriate reading level, his reading was sometimes sloppy and inaccurate. Within 6 weeks, our son gained reading fluency to a college level! He remains an avid reader and it is often difficult to keep him in books to read.

We would like to thank you for the wonderful job you have done with all three of our children. Before our children went through this course, they had a difficult time with their reading, sounding out unfamiliar words and comprehension. They have had tremendous success with this course. Rich and Ryan both have had improvement in their grades, their test scores and school has become much easier for them. Nicole has had improvements in the same areas and in addition she is constantly reading, on the school bus, before bed and in the morning while she is waiting for me to finish getting ready. As parents, it is a comfort and blessing to know that we have given our children a foundation that will change the course of their lives.
