About MeAs a parent and experienced educator, Linda is aware of the challenges facing students today. In high school, Linda was valedictorian and graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a B.S. in elementary education. She taught for six years in Massachusetts and did her graduate work in counseling and psychology. Then in California she also qualified for and obtained her California Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credit. In 1999, Linda became certified by Academic Associates® to teach their internationally acclaimed reading course and has since taught dozens of students of all ages to read quickly and easily. She developed a study skills course called “Learning Made Easy” to help middle school students and beyond learn how to work smarter not harder in just 5 hours. In about 3 hours she is also able to help students determine their best career choice areas using Match—one of the most effective career selection assessments available. It was when Linda’s youngest son was in the middle of third grade with extremely low self esteem reading at beginning first grade level that Linda and her husband decided to home-school both of their sons. After trying several reading “tutors” with discouraging results, they became aware of the Academic Associates® reading course. Their younger son’s reading level quickly jumped to the middle of fourth grade by the end of the program and—for the first time, he started to feel good about himself. After being home-schooled for the next four years, he actually skipped 8th grade to enroll as a freshman at Bear River High School with his brother and earned straight A’s!! |
